WASHINGTON- Today Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) introduced the Incentivizing Renewable Energy Production Act. The bill improves access to ethanol at the pump, provides fuel research, develops a new hydrogen vehicle infrastructure, creates energy tax credits for animal waste based energy production and reduces greenhouse gases. This bill shows Congressman Terry’s strong and unwavering commitment to make our country energy independent. “The biggest threat to our national security is our country’s dependence on foreign oil. The expansion of ethanol, renewable energy and hydrogen infrastructure is critical to freeing our own resources. We can no longer keep these resources under lock and key. Over the years I have fought hard to diversify our energy supplies and it is high time Congress pay attention and take action to once and for all put our country on the path to energy independence,” said Congressman Terry. -30-
