Terry: Clean Up Our Environment Without Driving Our Economy Off A Cliff

 
WASHINGTON- Congressman Lee Terry made the following statement after learning a bill, which will impose a new and devastating national energy tax on each and every American will likely come to the floor for a vote in the House this week:
 
“While many families are struggling to pay bills, put food on the table and make ends meet we have yet another massive tax increase on the table,” said Congressman Terry.  “We can all agree we need to clean up our environment, but driving our economy off a cliff to do so is not the answer.  I support an ‘all of the above’ plan which includes developing new energy sources, opening up resources in the United States for development and conservation efforts.  We can clean up our environment, become less dependent on foreign oil, and we can do this without a new tax and massive job loss.”
