WASHINGTON- Congressman Lee Terry continued his consistent and firm stance to support our men and women in uniform. Congressman Terry voted to support the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act of 2010 (H.R. 3082) which passed the House of Representatives today.
“Our veterans have put their lives on the line for our country and we owe them an eternity of gratitude for their service,” said Congressman Terry. “Today’s legislation will make sure our veterans get the first-class care they deserve. I have been a consistent supporter of veterans issues and will continue to make sure our veterans are taken care of.”
More than 81% of this bill’s spending will be directed to veterans’ programs. The bill also directs funding for VA medical services and facilities and provides for military construction.
Quick facts:
• Provides $24.5 billion for the Department of Defense, $14.2 of these funds going to military construction.
• Designated $234 million for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Security Investment Program.
• Directs $55.9 billion for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Provides $47.2 billion for Veterans Health Administration.
• Designates $4.8 billion for VA medical facilities.
